Exciting Opportunity: Executive Director – North Shore Chamber of Commerce

Through strategic initiatives, partnerships, and advocacy, we play a vital role in shaping the region’s economic landscape and fostering a thriving community.

Position Overview: As the Executive Director, you will be at the forefront of realizing NSCOC’s mission and objectives. Collaborating closely with the Board of Directors, you will plan, develop, and manage programs and projects that drive the Chamber’s goals forward. Your expertise in grant acquisition, financial management, and stakeholder engagement will be crucial in securing funding, enhancing membership, and strengthening partnerships that advance the NSCOC’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the development, coordination, and management of programs and projects that align with the NSCOC’s mission and objectives.
  2. Prepare and submit funding applications to public and private sources, securing necessary resources for NSCOC’s initiatives. Collaborate with the Board to expand the membership base.
  3. Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring sound financial management. Prepare financial reports and maintain close communication with the Treasurer.
  4. Cultivate partnerships with the public, private, and community sectors to further the Chamber’s goals. Work with the Board to promote alliances that benefit the NSCOC.
  5. Represent the NSCOC in meetings with businesses, community members, government agencies, and public officials.
  6. Oversee day-to-day office operations, including staff and volunteer recruitment, hiring, and supervision.
  7. Plan, coordinate, and publicize various events and meetings, such as membership gatherings, committee meetings, Business After Hours, and the Business Expo.
  8. Serve as an advisor to the Board, participating in committees and recommending policies for consideration.
  9. Keep the Board informed about finances, operations, and programs by providing accurate and timely updates.
  10. Perform additional duties as directed by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public or nonprofit administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the culture and values of the North Shore Community.
  • Proven experience in nonprofit management, including successful grant writing and securing funding.
  • A strategic thinker with exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build meaningful partnerships.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with community engagement, business development, and advocacy efforts.

Compensation:  Range: $40,000 – $50,000 (pay commensurate with experience), plus bonuses, insurance, and more
